When Retractable Deck Awnings goes into a customers home or business, they usually expect us to get immediately into some sort of sales presentation. Yes, we are there to obtain a customer but we're not there to sell or push them into anything. Our objective, always, is to solve their sun or weather problems. When their new retractable deck or patio awning allows them to use the desired area, even in adverse weather conditions, we not only have a customer for life we also have a qualified retractable awning sales person. First ask to be taken to the problem area and see:

• What area are we looking to protect with the awning?
  
• Will it be a wall or roof mounting?
  
• How wide does the awning need to be?
  
• What projection, distance from the home to the end of the patio or deck?
  
• Which direction (North, South, East or west) do we face?
  
• What's the possible mounting heights?
  
• Mounting surface; brick, wood, vinyl, aluminum, stone?
  
• Are we on the first, second or third floor?
  
• Are we high on a hill, or on the water? Discern if there are any location circumstances that dictate items such as wind sensors.
  
• What color is the home where the awning will be mounted?
  

From inside the house looking out. When the awning is extended and you're looking out, what type and pattern of window dressings are we looking through to the awning? If there are bold drapes or blinds we have to make sure the awning fabric won't clash with the interior colors.

Do you want a manual retractable, or a motorized retractable awning. If so where is electrical access. The motor on a Retractable Deck Awning is invisable. It's located in the roller tube and can be placed on either the right or left side (looking back at the house). The awning will only pull 2 to 3 amps of power. So the retractable awning can be connected to most any electric source (not 220) and then will be opperated by remote from inside the home.
